New Song (sort of)!

Hope all had a happy Thanksgiving. I've updated the decaf page (which you can now directly go to at decafmusic.com) with the next greatest Catholic song ever: Hand Motions in Heaven. The music isn't up yet, but the hand motions are, which-as we all know-are all that really matters.

What a crazy week I've had! A shout out to all the youth ministers in the diocese of Arlington, VA who I led a retreat for last Wednesday, and all the amazing folks at the Fan the Fire Youth Rally in York, PA that I met last Saturday. It was a joy to share my life with you guys. I'm looking forward to a great break with family coming in to eat my wife's amazing cooking. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Alright, I'm on vacation right now- and for fun I finished the Decaf webpage! It's a bit light until we cut some demos, but there's lots of fun stuff and its worth a look. Enjoy!

Decaf

Well, it is official. The collaborative ministry with Bob Rice and Chris Padgett has been launched, and it is called... decaf. It's a bit of a nonsence name, but it does tie into a theme of relaxing and letting God be God. We're not sure what it is, but check out the webpage, which is being updated almost daily. It's got a few good laughs on it. Then come back here and post what you think, I'd love some feedback from you guys.

Star Wars and Santa Claus

It's been a Star Wars weekend with me and my boys. First, the LEGO: Star Wars Video Game finally came out on Gamecube, so we've been having lots of fun playing with that. It's like your lego people with light sabers, and every time you destory something it breaks into little LEGO pieces. Serious fun.

And then, as you probably already know, Star Wars Episode III came out on DVD. I guess it's a sign that I'm getting old that I didn't stop everything (cancel classes and the like) to watch it right away, but I waited for the weekend so I could see it with my family. It worked out perfectly- Kolbe and Bobby fell asleep before it got too scary, and John (my oldest) felt he was old enough to handle it (with the sound turned down and the lights on). He did great.

He did so well being able to distinguish fantasy and reality, that I thought it would be a good time to break the Santa Claus myth, told him about St. Nick and the Christmas Tradition, and he took it very well. He's excited to be our "helper" this Christmas! Just when I thought we were in the clear, I mentioned there was no Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy either. Interestingly enough, the Tooth Fairy hit him the hardest. He really likes the Tooth Fairy. I'm not sure how concerned I should be about that.
